Two Types of Motorcycle Plate Tracking
Motorcycle plates fall into two categories:
Tracking New Motorcycle Plates (2024+)
For motorcycles registered from 2024 onward, use the standard LTO Tracker:

How to Track a Backlog Plate
Backlog plates use a dedicated tracker accessible from the main LTO website. Look for "Motorcycle Backlog" or "Track Motorcycle Plate Released to Dealers" link on lto.gov.ph.
What If My Plate is Still Stuck in Backlog?
- Check periodically — DOTr clearing batches monthly
- Verify dealer submission — your dealer must have submitted all docs to LTO. Some old records were never digitized
- Visit your LTO branch with your CR and Original Receipt — manual verification possible
- Consider plate replacement filing — if records can't be located, you may need to file for new plate issuance
Motorcycle Plate Format
Philippine motorcycle plates use a different format than cars:
- Format: 3 letters + 3 digits (e.g.,
ABC 123) - Color: Reflective white background, black text
- Size: 290mm × 113mm (front and rear)
- Series: Letters distributed regionally; numerical sequence runs through alphabet
Compare to private car plates which use 3 letters + 4 digits (e.g., ABC 1234).
