Why is There a Motorcycle Plate Backlog?
From around 2017-2023, motorcycle plate production fell behind registration volume. Plant capacity, supply chain issues during COVID, and bureaucratic delays created a backlog of millions of unissued plates. The DOTr publicly committed to clearing this backlog.
