How the LTO Plate Tracker Works

  1. Online (recommended): Go to ltotracker.ph, enter your plate number or MV File Number, and click "Track." Status loads in seconds.
  2. SMS to 2600: Text LTO VEHICLE [your plate] to 2600. You'll receive an SMS with the current status. Standard SMS rates apply.
  3. In person: Visit the LTO branch listed on your Certificate of Registration (CR). Bring your CR and a government-issued ID.

What Information You Need to Track Your Plate

Have one of the following ready before checking:

  • Plate Number — Format: ABC 1234 (cars) or ABC 123 (motorcycles). If you already have your physical plate, this is the easiest method.
  • MV File Number — A 15-digit number on your Certificate of Registration. Format: 1301-1002045 or similar. Used when you don't have the plate yet.
  • Conduction Sticker Number — For brand-new vehicles, you can use the temporary conduction sticker number issued at purchase.
Pro tip — MV File Number formatting

LTO Plate Tracker Status Meanings (Full List)

In Process

If you track your plate by plate number and see In Process, the LTO has accepted your record and placed your plate in the production queue — it simply has not been printed yet. Recheck your plate number status after a few days to watch it advance.

Printed / Produced

Printed / Produced confirms that the plate tied to your plate number has been physically made. It is now being prepared for the next move — transfer to your pickup branch or hand-off to a delivery courier.

Dispatched

When your plate number lookup reads Dispatched, your plate has been shipped out from production toward your selected LTO office or courier. Watch for a pickup notice or an SMS delivery tracking number.

Available for Pickup

Your plate number now shows Available for Pickup, meaning the plate is waiting at your chosen LTO branch. Claim it in person with your ID, Certificate of Registration, and receipt before the holding window closes.

Ready for Delivery

This status invites you to complete home delivery for the plate linked to your plate number. Submit your address and documents and settle the courier fee (about ₱150–₱600 via GCash or QRPh) to dispatch it.

Out for Delivery

Your plate is with the courier and on the way to your address, generally within one business day. Be available to receive and sign for it so your plate number delivery is not sent back.

Delivered

The plate for your plate number has been delivered and signed for — tracking is complete. Confirm the details against your CR and mount the plates immediately to stay compliant on the road.

Released to Dealer

For newly purchased vehicles, the plate registered under your plate number has been turned over to your car dealer instead of a public branch. Reach out to the dealership to collect it.

What to do: Contact your dealer to schedule pickup or delivery from them.

Not Found

A Not Found response to your plate number search usually means the record is not yet encoded or the number was mistyped. Double-check the format, search using your MV file number instead, or verify via SMS to 2600.

Returned to Sender

The courier could not complete delivery and sent the plate back to the LTO — commonly because of a wrong address or an absent recipient. Contact the branch to re-book delivery or arrange pickup of your plate.

How Long Does the LTO Plate Process Take?

Plate production and delivery times vary by vehicle type and region:

Brand-new motorcycle (2024+)6-16 weeksProduction capacity is constrained

Common LTO Plate Tracker Issues & Fixes

Issue: "Plate Not Found"

This is the most common error. Causes and fixes:

  • Typo in plate or MV File Number — Double-check spelling and remove extra spaces
  • Leading zeros in MV File Number — Try 1301-1002045 instead of 1301-00001002045
  • Plate not yet entered into system — If your dealer just submitted documents, wait 2-3 weeks before re-checking
  • Wrong tracker for your vehicle type — Brand-new vehicles initially registered in NCR offices use the main tracker. Motorcycle backlogs and replacement plates have separate trackers

Issue: "LTO Tracker Website Not Working / Offline"

The official tracker periodically goes down for maintenance. Alternatives:

  • SMS to 2600 works even when the website is down
  • Visit your LTO branch in person — every CR shows the issuing branch
  • LTO NCR portal at ltoncr.com handles NCR-region inquiries separately
  • Wait 1-2 hours — most outages are short. Try off-peak (early morning or late night Manila time)

What to Do When Your Plate is "Available for Pickup"

When the tracker shows your plate is ready at an LTO branch, prepare:

  1. Bring valid ID — Original government-issued (driver's license, passport, UMID, postal ID, etc.)
  2. Bring your Certificate of Registration (CR) — Original or printed copy
  3. Bring acknowledgment receipt — From your initial transaction or dealer
  4. Visit the correct branch — The branch listed in your tracker result, not just any LTO office
  5. Verify the plate — Check the plate number matches before leaving the office
  6. Attach plate immediately — Per the No Plate, No Travel policy, attach plates before driving away

Plate Tracker by Vehicle Type

Different vehicle types use slightly different tracker workflows:
